Overview

For my design concept, I chose the Atollo lamp by Vico Magistretti. I began by researching the lamp’s design concept and exploring its various applications. This deep dive helped me refine my color palette, drawing inspiration directly from the lamp’s original colors: bronze, brown, and marble. Among these, the bronze-yellow stood out as a focal color, as it added vibrancy and visual appeal compared to the brown I initially planned to use. Instead, I repurposed the brown for the text, maintaining cohesion within the palette while avoiding the starkness of black. The lamp itself served as a key visual element. I expanded its form to create a dynamic composition that anchors both sides of the poster. Additionally, I integrated Magistretti’s information throughout the design, ensuring a cohesive and engaging presentation that honors the lamp's iconic aesthetic.
